Entries will be accepted only when payment is received. Dressage only entries will have lowest priority for stabling. Highest Priority will be given to those entering the horse trial. Competitors who consistently provide volunteer help at our schooling shows will also be given preference over those who do not. We will be keeping track of competitors when they do not fulfill their volunteer requirement—see Rule #8 on next page. Failure to do so may result in your entry being rejected at future shows. Remember you may provide a substitute. NO REFUNDS for scratches made after 5:00 PM WEDNESDAY June 30, 2010. RULES AND R E G U L A T I O N S 1.Pine Hill Enterprises and the show management or its employees, or GHCTA will not be responsible for any loss or damage or injury to persons, horses or property. Each minor exhibitor must have parent, guardian or qualified instructor sign the release incorporated in the entry form. Each entrant is responsible for riding a properly conditioned horse in a safe manner. Management reserves the right to stop and eliminate unsafe riders or improperly conditioned horses. Entries that are eliminated during jumping phases for jumping penalties are required to leave the course and may not compete in any remaining jumping phase. Schooling under the supervision of a qualified instructor will be allowed after the conclusion of the competition upon notifying management. If the footing is good schooling the cross-country course on Saturday will be permitted. Horses not entered in all 3 phases (horse trial) for Sunday will pay the $25 schooling fee. Horses entered in all 3 phases (horse trial) pay no additional fee. However, horses entered in the horse trial must go Hors Concours (not for points or ribbons) on Sunday. Competitors are expected to notify management if they school on Saturday and should be listed as H.C. on the scoreboard at the start of the competition.2. Properly fitting helmet with permanent harness & boots with heels required whenever mounted. Numbers must be worn and clearly visible. 3. Unless otherwise stipulated the competitions will be conducted in accordance with the rules of the United States Eventing Association as described in the current rule book. 4. Ribbons will be awarded through sixth place. Divisions with sufficient entries will be split into sections. 5. Entry fees are $55 for Combined Tests (dressage & stadium) and $70 for Horse Trials (dressage, stadium & cross country). Note discount for pre-registration. Any horse/rider combination may enter only one level of one competition. A single $10 grounds fee charge will be added to entries not stabled on grounds. 6. Lunch will be served from 11-2. Drinks and snacks will be available the rest of the day. 7. Stalls are available at $35 (Saturday night/Sunday only!) which includes the grounds fee. Horses arriving Friday will pay an additional $15 stabling and $25 schooling fee (if schooled)—must specify on entry that you plan to arrive early. Stabling is limited to 79 stalls. Priority will be given to those entering the complete horse trial. Horses brought just for schooling purposes may be stabled only with permission from the show management. Please call ahead to determine if extra stalls are available and bring a current coggins. Tack stalls are not permitted. All horses stabled must have a stall voucher posted on their stall. **8. By entering the competition the competitor agrees to jump judge or otherwise assist with the competition for approximately 1 hour. If you can't work it into your schedule please find a competent substitute to take your place. If everyone contributes a little time, no one will have to spend too much time helping. 9. Qualified and experienced EMT available during show. New: $5.00 Medic Fee now required due to a huge increase in cost to have EMT and ambulance on grounds.D I V I S I O N S Dressage Tests are available on the USEA website—except for Green As Grass. USEA link is on our website. OPEN INTERMEDIATE CT or INTEMEDIATE/PRELIMINARY HT Open to Horse/Rider combinations who have completed at least 4 events at the Preliminary Level or above. Dressage: 2010 USEF CT INTERMEDIATE TEST AStadium: 10-12 jumping efforts at 3 ft. 11 in. ~450 m @ 350 mpm Cross Country: Same as Preliminary --- OPEN PRELIMINARY --- Open to Horse/Rider combinations who have completed at least 4 events at the Training Level. Dressage : 2010 USEF CT PRELIMINARY TEST AStadium : 10-12 jumping efforts 3 ft. 7 in. ~450 m @ 350 mpm Cross Country : Course to 2500 meters at 400-500 mpm. 18-22 jumping efforts with max ht 3 ft. 7 in. --- TRAINING --- Open to horse/rider combinations who have not completed more than 2 events at the Preliminary Level in the past 24 months Dressage : 2010 USEF CT TRAINING TEST A.Stadium - 8 - 12 jumping efforts at 3 ft. 3 in. ~ 450m @ 320 mpm Cross Country : Course to 2500 meters at ~420 mpm. 16-20 jumping efforts with a max ht 3 ft. 3 in. --- NOVICE --- Open to horse/rider combinations who have not completed more than 2 horse trials at the Training Level or above in the past 24 months. Dressage : 2010 USEF CT NOVICE Test AStadium: 10 jumping efforts over a course of ~450 m @ 325 mpm. Maximum obstacle height of 2 ft. 11 in. Cross Country : Course to 1800 meters at 350 mpm. 12-18 jumping efforts with max ht of 2 ft. 11 in. --BEGINNER NOVICE--- Open to horse/rider combinations who have not completed more than 2 Novice events in the past 24 months. Dressage: 2010 USEF CT BEGINNER NOVICE TEST A. Test may NOT be 'called'.Stadium : 8 - 10 jumping efforts over a course of ~350 m (no time penalties). Maximum obstacle height of 2ft. 6 in. Cross Country : Course to 1500 meters (no time penalties). 12-18 jumping efforts with maximum height of 2.9". Course will be straight forward and inviting.
NEW DIVISION---GOLDILOCKS DIVISION (it ’s not too big, it’s not too small, it’s JUST RIGHT!):Open to horse/rider combinations who have not completed more than 2 Beginner Novice events in the past 24 months. Dressage: 2010 USEF CT BEGINNER NOVICE TEST A. Test may be ‘called’.Stadium: 8 to 10 jumping efforts over a course of ~350 (no time penalties). Maximum obstacle height of 2 ’3”---no combinations, no flowers, inviting first fence.Cross Country: Course of ~1200 meters (no time penalties). 10 to 14 jumping efforts with a maximum height of 2 ’3”. Course will be straight forward and inviting. Water crossing will be optional. Some jumps in the woods.Note: This division will not be eligible for end of the year GHCTA awards for 2010 because it was not added until the middle of the competition year.
--- GREEN AS GRASS CT or HT --- Open to horses that have not competed above the Beginner level or riders who have not competed Beginner or above. Dressage for CT ONLY: ( NO CHANGE from 2006) 2003 UDSF Introductory Level Test A (on USDF website: USDF.org). Test may be 'called'.Dressage HT ONLY 2010 Beginner Novice A (NEW!)--- This test will be used for the July show. Test may be calledStadium : 6-8 jumping efforts over a course ~-300 m. Maximum obstacle height of 2ft.; mostly cross rails. Not Timed Cross Country : Course to 800 meters. 6-10 very straight-forward jumping efforts in the field with maximum height of 2'. Distances and speeds may be modified according to conditions All dressage to be ridden in the small arena PLEASE NOTE: Absolutely no changes of division will be allowed (ie: from HT to CT) once the rider has completed their dressage test. All changes must be cleared with the show office before the rider begins the competition.
